ROLEPLAY
In 2000 I was playing Tony in RACING DEMON and Lindsey McAuley, who was playing my girlfriend, told me they were looking for actors to help teach communication skills at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge. Running this new project was Steve Attmore. I knew Steve from a decade earlier when we had both been in JACK THE RIPPER THE MUSICAL and regularly saw him at Cambridge United. So the next home game I approached him with my interest and attended a training session in September. The rest, as they say, is history and over the following twenty plus years I have traveled the length and breadth of the country in all manner of roles.
I was lucky enough to have part of my training with Doctor Jonathan Silverman, one of the co-founders of the Cambridge Calgary Method which is the bible of communication skills in East Anglia. I am now a senior roleplayer for Cambridge University Hospitals, University of East Anglia and Simpatico Roleplay Agency.
As well as medical communication training and exams, I have worked in :
Psychiatric Training and Mock CASK Exams
Pharmacy Exams
Social Services Vulnerable Adults Training
ESA Academy course for DWP claimants
Anglia Ruskin Eye Clinic Exams
Eastern Deanery GP Recruitment & Selection Exams
Royal College Exams
GP Residential Course Training
Nurse OSCEs
Foreign GPs simulated surgeries
Emergency Medicine Training
Vet Communication Skills Training
Veterinary Defence Society Seminars
